Astro’s Playroom PS5 Load Time Comparison Shows Massive Improvement

Astro’s Playroom is one of the launch games for the PS5 that will come pre-installed with the console. It appears that the game load times are now instant.

Astro’s Playroom is a brand new game that will be released for the PS5 and playable on every console out of the box. It was developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan. Back in July, Geoff Keighley shared a gameplay demonstration of Astro’s Playroom that gave the first glimpse at the game.

As we are getting closer to the launch, Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan has apparently updated the game and improved the load times for it. This is leading to near-instant load times for the game on PS5 as seen in the GIF below, made by resetERA user Dinjooh.

Famitsu has also tested the respawn times for games like Astro’s Playroom and Godfall. In their video, there was barely any loading despite multiple deaths and the player respawned almost immediately. Godfall comes closer to 2 seconds of load time while Astro’s Playroom is near-instant.

Sony’s PlayStation 5 will be released in most major markets on November 12 and in the rest of the world on November 19. Currently, Sony held a hands-on event featuring various members of the Japanese press and YouTubers which has led to a lot of footage from the upcoming PS5 games like Godfall getting released on YouTube.
