Sandfall Interactive has proudly announced that its debut title, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, has achieved an impressive milestone by selling over one million copies within just three days of its release. The announcement was shared through the official Twitter/X account.

The momentum for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has not only been reflected in its sales figures but also in its strong presence across digital platforms. The game has charted among the best-selling titles on Steam, reaching a peak concurrent player count of more than 120,000 users over the weekend. According to the latest data, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 climbed to the seventeenth spot on Steam’s list of most-played games, with a peak player count of 121,422 users.

Set against the backdrop of a haunting world inspired by Belle Époque France, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 invites players to join the members of Expedition 33 on a desperate mission to end the Paintress’ reign of death. Every year, the Paintress awakens to paint a cursed number on her monolith, causing all individuals of that age to vanish without a trace. With the number set to fall to thirty-three, the Expedition embarks on a perilous journey to prevent further tragedy.

This is Sandfall Interactive’s debut project, developed using Unreal Engine 5. It features a visually stunning world brought to life with detailed environments and an emotionally resonant soundtrack. Despite being available through Xbox Game Pass, the game’s sales have remained strong.

The critical reception has also been overwhelmingly positive. The game currently holds an impressive 92 rating on Metacritic, positioning it among the highest-rated releases of 2025 and marking it as one of the decade’s most critically acclaimed new IPs. It is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
