CRONOS: The New Dawn Recoups Development Costs

Bloober Team has announced that CRONOS: The New Dawn has officially generated enough revenue to cover its production costs, marking a major commercial milestone for the studio’s biggest in-house project to date.

According to the developer, the survival horror title reached the break-even point within nine months of release. That means all future revenue from game sales will now contribute directly to the company’s profits.

Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno described the achievement as a significant success, particularly given the scale of the project and the increasingly competitive games market. He said the studio always believed the game would reach this point thanks to its positive reception from both critics and players.

The company also confirmed that its first-ever downloadable expansion, CRONOS: Lazarus, is set to launch later this year. Babieno said the upcoming release is expected to provide another boost to sales while helping establish CRONOS as one of Bloober Team’s key original franchises.

The expansion will expand the story surrounding the Guardian, one of the central characters in the game’s universe. Players can expect new abilities that alter gameplay, alongside a new enemy known as the Hunter, whose mission is to track down and eliminate the Guardian. Bloober Team says these additions will make the experience darker and more action-packed than the base game.

CRONOS: Lazarus is scheduled to launch this autumn for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.

Bloober Team also highlighted another milestone for the title, noting that CRONOS: The New Dawn became the first video game to receive Poland’s prestigious TERAZ POLSKA emblem, an award recognising products that represent high standards of Polish quality and innovation.
