Capcom has revealed new details about Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, confirming that the expansion will launch on October 9, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

During the latest Capcom Spotlight presentation, director Kento Kinoshita discussed the development of the expansion and outlined the new gameplay systems and content awaiting players.

Set in the long-abandoned northern region of Norgan, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen introduces a brand-new storyline centred on the mysterious Fallen Dragon and its pursuer, Eir. As players explore the frozen landscape, they will take part in the new Relic Expedition Cycle, uncovering relics that can be appraised to unlock powerful weapons and new skills, allowing Arisen to venture deeper into the region’s secrets.

The expansion also adds 12 challenge dungeons designed to test players’ abilities, alongside new customisation options including additional hairstyles and tattoos for both the Arisen and their main Pawn.

Capcom also confirmed that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will receive another free update in late August following its June title update. The patch will improve performance across all platforms, add extra save slots, adjust the Dragonsplague mechanic, and increase the number of weapon skill slots from 4 to 6.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will be available as a standalone release for $49.99. Players who already own the base game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC can instead purchase the expansion separately as downloadable content for $29.99.

Players who pre-order the expansion will receive the Norgan Fashion Set – Northern Attire as a bonus, available through in-game storage at launch. Those who pre-order on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC via Steam will also gain immediate access to Dragon’s Dogma 2 ahead of the expansion’s release.

Capcom also announced that Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will be playable publicly for the first time at Gamescom 2026.
