ESRB has rated Gears of War 5 giving it an M18+ rating on Xbox One and PC. Their listing also confirms in-game purchases and provides a description of the mature content.
Gears of War 5 is no stranger to violence considering the series first started the whole chainsaw gun hybrid called Lancer and brought some brutal finishers with it. The upcoming sequel is no different and continues the trend of violently slashing the enemies into pieces.
There is no sexual content in the game but expect to see plenty of blood and gore in addition to the intense violence. There are also some instances of strong language, as shared by ESRB.

Rating Summary: This is a third-person shooter in which players assume the role of an elite soldier battling an alien threat. Players use machine guns, sniper rifles, pistols, assault rifles, and grenade launchers to kill alien enemies and boss creatures. Combat is frenetic, with frequent explosions, gunfire, cries of pain, and blood-splatter effects. Several weapons cause aliens to explode into chunks of flesh; players can use a chainsaw to slice into aliens’ chests. Some sequences depict creatures performing execution-style finishing moves: tearing soldiers to pieces, cutting their heads off, crushing soldiers’ heads as they lay on the ground. The words “f**k” and “sh*t” appear in the dialogue.
During Microsoft’s E3 2019 press conference, they shared the release date for the game as well and it is out on September 10. The game will launch for both PC and Xbox One. It will be also available for the Xbox Game Pass at launch while Ultimate Edition owners will get it a little early on September 6.
