It appears that early copies of the long awaited PlayStation exclusive, God of War Ragnarok, are out in the wild.
PSN user ‘HATTAN6’ has God of War Ragnarok listed under the ‘Recently Played’ section in their profile, implying that they either have access to a review copy or that early copies of the game have been leaked weeks ahead of the game’s release.
The PSN user also has Call off Duty Modern Warfare 2 in their recently played games, though that may just be the multiplayer beta and not an early retail copy. However, the user also appears to have access to an early copy of Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed a day ahead of its official release on October 18, 2022.
Regardless of whether the information on the PSN profile is accurate, it’s probably a good idea to start being careful about potential spoiler in case early copies of the game are indeed out in the wild.
Previously, patch notes for update 1.01 for God of War Ragnarok as well as its download size were revealed. The update primarily aims to improve the state of the game from the default version 1.00 that comes on disc. It was rolled out on October 10, 2022. The download size of the update comes in at 18.3 GB.
God of War Ragnarok recently went gold, therefore this update will likely not be included in physical copies at launch. For those who pre-ordered a digital copy of God of War Ragnarok on PSN, the update should come pre-installed with the game. It is mainly to address bugs and issues that persist in version 1.00. Other improvements may include performance gains, though that has yet to be confirmed.
Kratos’ is officially set to embark on his latest adventure alongside his son Atreus on November 9, 2022, for the PS4 and PS5. The pre-load as well as the review embargo date for the game have also been revealed.
