Monster Hunter Rise is one of the most anticipated games for the Nintendo Switch in March, especially in Japan, and it is going to do really well in sales.
In a new investors’ Q/A regarding their financial results this quarter, Capcom shared a bit more on the pre-orders and demand for Monster Hunter Rise, which will launch exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on March 26, 2021.
When investors asked about the current prospects regarding the sales plan of MH Rise, Capcom replied: “Orders are going well at the moment, but we will keep an eye on the situation without being optimistic until the release date.”
Capcom is also expecting strong demand for the game in Japan. They will keep an eye on the trends between the sales of MH Rise and MH World between the overseas and Japanese market.
“Our initial impression is that demand is strong in the Japanese market. We will increase sales in the US and European markets over the medium term. We will also pay attention to the difference in sales trends between ‘Monster Hunter: World’ and ‘Monster Hunter Rise’ to help plan future strategies for the series.”
Investors also asked some questions related to the budget of the game and any additional costs, to which Capcom clarified that these will be disclosed in the financial results ending March 31, 2021.
As for the digital versus physical sales for Monster Hunter Rise, Capcom is not expecting the game to deviate much from the current trend, which means it could offer a similar ratio of digital versus physical sales as it was the case with Monster Hunter World.
Monster Hunter Rise will launch on March 26, 2021, for the Nintendo Switch. It currently has a demo available on the Nintendo eShop that will be removed from February 1st.
