Nintendo Switch 2 Is Allegedly Planned For A June 2025 Launch

The Nintendo Switch successor, Switch 2, is planned for launch by the end of June, 2025, based on a new rumor.

Known insider and content creator eXtas1s has a new video on his YouTube channel, in which he talked about the launch window for the Nintendo Switch 2. He mentioned the upcoming Direct, and how it will focus on the console’s launch lineup.

Based on what the leaker has heard from his sources, the Nintendo Switch 2 will launch towards the end of June, 2025. He was not given an exact release date, though it is expected to be revealed at the upcoming Direct presentation on April 2, 2025. This release window was also mentioned by Robin Zhu of Sanford C. Bernstein, who predicts that the console will have a launch inventory of 6 million to 8 million units.

As for details regarding the Nintendo Switch 2’s price, the insider referred to recent estimates from market analysts, who regularly communicate with the console maker as well as its software and hardware partners. They anticipate the upcoming console to have a price tag of 400 US Dollars or more, but still expect it to have the biggest launch in the history of the game industry.

Tokyo-based industry analyst Serkan Toto believes that Nintendo will sell “boatloads” of Switch 2 units during the first months of its lifecycle, almost regardless of its price. He expects a great software lineup during the console’s first year. Other analysts, including Yijia Zhai of UBS and Robin Zhu of Sanford C. Bernstein, also expect the Switch 2 to sell at a retail price of 400 US Dollars or more.  Toyo Securities analyst Hideki Yasuda wouldn’t be surprised to see Nintendo going ahead with a price tag of 500 US Dollars. Macquarie Capital analyst Hiroshi Yamashina estimates the Switch 2 price to fall between 400 and 450 US Dollars. He believes the console will sell over 20 million units in its first year on the market.
