Nioh 2 Open Beta Confirmed, Release Date Set For March 2020

Koei Tecmo is working on an open beta for Nioh 2 which will be out in November. They have also confirmed a release date for the game.

Nioh 2 will be out on PS4 on March 13, 2020. It is currently confirmed for PS4 without any PC version in sigh but the original Nioh did make its way to PC after the PS4 version. It is also releasing free for all PS Plus subscribers next month.

Fumihiko Yasuda, Producer at Team Ninja talked about the release date announcement in a post on the official PlayStation Blog. He said that one of the reasons they hadn’t disclosed a release date was because they wanted to get a feeling of “genuine evolution” for the sequel. They wanted to bring fresh new things while retaining the good old ones from the original Nioh.

Koei Tecmo is releasing an open beta for Nioh 2 on the PlayStation Store. It will be available to download on November 1 and also act as a limited-time demo for the game. This open beta should be different than the earlier beta tests for the game. It will be available for everyone and can be played from November 1 to 10.

Nioh is known for its brutal difficulty curve and the open beta is expected to be quite difficult as well. Those who eventually manage to beat it can expect to earn a new item “The Mark of the Demon Slayer” in the game. It should unlock Kamaitachi Helmet from the in-game shrine.
