After a lot of speculation, there is a new Pokémon Direct confirmed to stream tomorrow. It will reportedly share an update on Pokémon Sword and Shield.
Nintendo has confirmed that a new Pokémon Direct is scheduled for tomorrow. You can watch a live stream of the Direct when it airs on YouTube or Twitch on January 9th at 6:30 AM PT. This direct will be roughly 20 minutes long and according to a press release sent by Nintendo Germany, this will offer an update on Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Pokémon Sword and Shield are the latest generations of mainline Pokémon games. The game faced a lot of controversies ahead of its launch mainly due to the lack of a proper Pokedex. It cut a lot of the classic and fan-favorite Pokémon from the game which led to backlash and anger against the game developers.
While currently there are no rumors regarding what is bring revealed in this Nintendo Direct, there are some upcoming projects that are worth mentioning here. One of these is Pokémon Home while another is Detective Pikachu for Nintendo Switch. In addition to both of these, there will be an update for Pokémon Sword and Shield as per Nintendo Germany.

This will also be one of the largest Nintendo Direct focused on Pokémon since it is roughly 20 minutes long. It can also include surprise like a remake of Pokémon Generation 4, which was rumored last year. It can launch later in 2020 but so far there is no official confirmation of such a game.
