The Colosseum Is Reportedly The First Of A Series Of Planned DLC For Elden Ring

Elden Ring recently received its Colosseum DLC update, but this is reportedly the first of a series of planned content for the From Soft game.

Well-known enthusiast of From Software titles Lance McDonald took to Twitter to share that the Colosseum DLC update that Elden Ring recently received is the first of a series of planned content for the title. He added that the Colosseum DLC is called “DLC1” internally, and it was planned to be the first DLC since before the game’s release.

McDonald also mentioned that he’ll be able to talk more about what happened with this DLC behind the scenes, referring to his earlier comment about it being, in his opinion, the worst DLC that From Software has ever released. He added that, for now, Elden Ring is in active development, and fans should remain confident in From Software’s ability to deliver. The series of tweets posted by McDonald on the matter were later deleted. They can, however, be seen in the screenshots above.

Elden Ring is a 2022 action role-playing game developed by From Software and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. Hidetaka Miyazaki, who also served as the director, produced the game with the help of fantasy author George R. R. Martin, who developed its backstory and world building. It was released on February 25, 2022 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

From Software’s open world action role-playing game is played in the third person perspective and emphasizes combat and exploration. It has characteristics in common the studio’s previous titles, including the Souls series, Bloodborne, and Sekiro. Players can freely explore the six primary sections of the Lands Between, which are set in an open environment and contain places like castles, tunnels, and tombs. The main form of mobility for exploring these massive locations is the protagonist’s steed, Torrent. The demigods that control each region function as the game’s primary bosses.
