The Last of Us Part 2 Won’t Offer Any Multiplayer Mode

The Last of Us Part 2, one of the most anticipated PS4 exclusives, won’t offer any multiplayer mode contrary to the earlier reports.

The Last of Us Part 2 was shown again with a release date during the most recent State of Play by Sony. The game is now confirmed to launch on February 21, 2020. The first game had a multiplayer mode called Factions which was quite popular among the fans. Those who were hoping to see an evolved form of it in the sequel will be disappointed to know that this is not the case.

In an interview with USGamer, the game designer of The Last of Us Part 2, Emilia Schatz has confirmed that there won’t be any multiplayer mode available in the game.

“We’re focusing on a single-player experience, so we’re just making a single-player game for this,” said Schatz. This was further corroborated by a Sony Interactive Entertainment PR who replied back to the publication when asked about further confirmation.

The game director of Neil Druckmann had called the sequel their most ambitious and longest game in the company’s 35 years history. It has been reported that The Last of Us Part 2 might ship on two discs but this information hasn’t been confirmed aside from the listing by one retailer.

The Last of Us Part 2 will launch exclusively for the PS4 on February 21, 2020. It will be released in four different editions including the Special, Collector, and Ellie Edition.
