The True Resident Evil 4 Remake Is Closer Than We Think

Resident Evil 4 Remake has been rumored to be in development at Capcom, but fans have already spent a lot of time remaking this classic.

Those who have kept an eye on the modding scene for the Resident Evil 4 PC version will be familiar with the RE4HD project. It started a long way back with the release of the PC version of Resident Evil 4 and it continued to slowly progress until a release date is finally in hand.

The official website of RE4 HD has confirmed that the project will be released in its first 1.0 public build on February 2, 2022. This marks the end of one of the most ambitious remake projects from a group of fans that started thanks to the work of a highly talented individual.

What makes this all the more impressive is that this was before the rise of the AI upscale algorithms so these two individuals, who are the brains of the project had to go through every texture and do it all manually while keeping the original design intact.

If you own the PC version of Resident Evil 4, you should be able to get this remake to work on your PC once it is out in the form of the 1.0 build.

While Capcom is working on their remake, it is still nice to have options like the ability to play through the original game without all the blurry textures and low-resolution models.
