Cyberpunk 2077 will be released for both current-generation and next-generation consoles. It can be upgraded for free on Xbox Series X but no confirmation yet for PS5.

Cyberpunk 2077 was announced as one of the free upgrades to Xbox Series X for owners of the Xbox One version. Sony has yet to officially announce any such free upgrades and while it is confirmed for the Xbox Series X, which is the next-generation version of the game, the developers are reluctant to comment on a possible PS5 version.

Cyberpunk 2077 also has more pre-orders on PC than on consoles but that might change as the game gets closer to launch. The developers have also assured the current release date is on track and the game should be out on September 17 despite the lockdown in effect by the COVID-19 pandemic. They are working remotely on the game and have more than 600 developers on it.

CD Projekt Red has also confirmed that they have next-generation hardware development kits for both PS5 and Xbox Series X. It should help the game hit these platforms when they launch later this year.
