If you want a little behind-the-scenes info on the game (which might be related to this departure), it’s that since Jean Guesdon was put in charge of the Assassin’s Creed franchise in February, he’s decided to get rid of everything that was “magical” in Hexe,” said xj0nathan. “For example, we were supposed to control a cat, well, ultimately that’s been canceled.”

Regarding whether these changes to Assassin’s Creed codename Hexe will affect its development time, the insider believes the game’s development will actually speed up because, from what he’s been told, the feature involving a cat wasn’t quite ready yet and still needed more work. As per him, removing it allows the development teams to focus its efforts on more important things. He didn’t rule out the possibility of the feature eventually being added later on if development progresses faster, but he clarified that it’s no longer a priority. As for the game’s story, he doesn’t believe it will receive any changes as a result of this.

Additionally, in response to a question regarding the possibility of Assassin’s Creed 2 protagonist Ezio somehow making a return in project Hexe, xj0nathan posted the “😏” emoji. He also said that there’s a chance Jean Guesdon was responsible for the removal of RPG elements from Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resyncedsince, according to him, it was originally planned as a “real RPG.”
