While it’s no secret that Ghostwire: Tokyo will eventually make its way to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, Sony has a one year timed console exclusivity period for PS5 that ends in March, 2023. As such, this is the first time since the game’s launch that we’re seeing Bethesda promoting the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S version, which isn’t expected to release before March, 2023.

Ghostwire: Tokyo is a 2022 action-adventure game developed by Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda Softworks. The game released worldwide on March 25, 2022 for PlayStation 5 and PC. It is played from a first-person perspective. To vanquish the ghosts and spirits spooking Tokyo, the player can employ a variety of psychic and paranormal abilities.

The combat, according to combat director Shinichiro Hara, is “karate meets magic,” as the player character uses Kuji-kiri-inspired hand gestures to cast spells. The player can use takedown moves to destroy an enemy when its core is exposed after it has lost the majority of its health. Characters can gain spirit points and resources for skill upgrades by slaying these spirits and gathering Yokai.

Ghostwire: Tokyo’s story follows Akito, a young man is partially possessed by a spirit. He awakens with control over his body, with the exception of his right hand, which is taken over by the spirit. A terrifying fog that turns anyone caught in it into a spirit descends shortly after. The spirit that resides in Akito saves him. Nearby, a man wearing a Hannya mask (known only as Hannya casts a spell to call forth evil spirits and imprison them in cages throughout Shibuya.
