Game Science’s action role-playing game, Black Myth: Wukong, is set to receive two DLC expansions, based on the latest rumor.
Insider Lunatic Ignus took to their Discord server to share that Game Science aims to launch 2 DLC expansions for Black Myth: Wukong, before the release of its sequel, Black Myth: Jiang Ziya. A few days ago, their source found audio files for Buddha and Jade Emperor, along with Nezha (who will have a more prominent appearance in the next game).
The insider claims that their information make sense, as Game Science originally wanted Black Myth: Wukong to have 13 chapters. However, the development team ultimately decided to work on only 6 chapters. According to Lunatic Ignus, the next DLC expansions could feature Bull King (either as a boss battle or in playable form), Jade Emperor, and Buddha. They further mentioned that the DLC expansions are set to arrive after the Xbox port and physical copies have gone on store shelves. As per them, fans should expect an announcement sometime during summer 2025 (likely on August 20, 2025).
Regarding the Xbox version of Black Myth: Wukong, another insider, eXtas1stv, had shared that they had the opportunity to speak to Xbox developers at Gamescom, 2024, who informed them about a technical issue affecting the release of Black Myth: Wukong on Xbox Series X|S. According to the information gathered by the insider, the game is suffering from a memory Leak issue, which can cause significant crashes that could compromise the performance of Xbox consoles.
As a result of this problem, it has not passed Xbox certification and has, therefore, been indefinitely delayed until the development team at Game Science manages to optimize it for Xbox Series X|S. According to the insider, the studio is already working hard to resolve this issue and pass the necessary bug detection tests. Game Science plans to announce a release date as soon as it gets approved. For now, it was said that the Xbox Series X|S version of Black Myth: Wukong is “close to being ready.”
