Dying Light 2 developer Techland has suggested that it will take 500 hours to fully complete the game. This is a significant step up from the first game.
The original Dying Light was a massive open-world game that took around 15 to 20 hours to beat the main story, while if you were the completionist, you could take upwards of 40 hours to beat the game as per HowLongToBeat.
The successor, at least for now, appears to have taken it one step further and will require 500 hours to complete everything. At least this is the claim that is made by Techland on their official Twitter account.
While this might seem like a long time to complete the game, the official account clarified that this is for 100% completion and the main game will take less than this to finish.
Note: It’s about 100% completion rate, most of the players who are in for story and side quests will be able to complete the game quicker, it will still be a solid experience though!
Techland has been working on a sequel to Dying Light for a while now. They originally wanted to get the game out in 2020 but it was pushed back several times, first from 2020 to 2021, and then to 2022. It will finally launch on February 4, 2022.
Dying Light 2 will be available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC. It will also launch on Nintendo Switch through Cloud Streaming.
