FromSoftware is not aiming to achieve huge hits like its recent action role playing game, Elden Ring, and will instead continue to work on fun games that offer value.

Speaking during an interview, Yasuhiro Kitao, FromSoftware Lead Producer, was asked whether there was anything the development team noticed when they looked back on Elden Ring, or if their approach to production changed since its success. He responded by saying that the studio has not yet been able to analyze the reason why so many people played the game. As for sales, he mentioned that FromSoftware has no idea why Elden Ring sold so well. He added that the studio’s stance on development has not changed due to the game’s success.

He said that the studio will continue to create games that are fun and have value, rather than aiming for a huge hit like Elden Ring.

Kitao was also asked regarding the development progress of Elden Ring’s DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, as fans are eager to get their hands on it. In response, he stated that he will discuss the expansion in detail on another occasion. He mentioned that the release of the Elden Ring DLC is still a little ways off, though he added that development is progressing smoothly.

Though, they did state that their sources are unverified.
