Horizon Forbidden West is confirmed to get a 60 FPS performance mode on the PS5. This is according to the devs who shared this info with the press.

In an interview with French YouTuber Julien Chièze, the devs have confirmed that the game will come with a 60 FPS performance mode. This will be the first time Horizon will be playable in 60 FPS aside from the PC version of the first game.

Sony had recently announced that the God of War sequel and Gran Turismo 7 would also release for the PS4, thus making them cross-generation games just like Horizon Forbidden West. God of War sequel has been delayed to 2022 while there is still no release date set for Gran Turismo 7.

Horizon Forbidden West is the next chapter in the popular open-world RPG from Guerrilla Games. It was confirmed to release for the PS4 and PS5 in 2021 but in a recent interview, the studio head of PlayStation Studios, Herman Hulst has hinted that the game might get delayed to 2022.

60 FPS appears to get a big push for most first-party games developed by PlayStation Studios. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is also confirmed to offer a 60 FPS performance mode while it was also available in nearly all of the launch PS5 games including Demon’s Souls and the recently released Returnal.

Sony is also patching their older first-party games with 60 FPS support. They have done it with Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, Days Gone, and recently The Last of Us Part 2.
