Resident Evil 2 Remake Sales Are About To Hit 9 Million

by Greg Martin

Resident Evil 2 Remake was one of the fastest-selling games in the franchise and it is currently on pace to outsell Resident Evil 7.

While Resident Evil Village currently holds the title for the best debut among the series, Resident Evil 2 Remake also did well back during its launch in 2019. The game has continued to sell copies and is now closer to hitting the 9 million sales milestone.

In a new update on their best-selling games page, Capcom has revealed the sales details of all of their million sellers including the Resident Evil series.

This new sales update puts Resident Evil VII at 10.2 million copies followed by Resident Evil 2 Remake at 8.9 million copies. While Resident Evil 3 Remake had a slow start, it has eclipsed 4.6 million copies and Capcom considers it a hit.

Other games that have continued to do well include Monster Hunter Rise at 7.5 million, Monster Hunter World + Iceborne at 26 million, and Resident Evil Village at 4.8 million.

Interestingly, we also find out the Ace Attorney is a modest success with the Trilogy selling more than 1 million copies. This has put the overall sales of the series above Onimusha, which had received a remaster on the current-generation consoles but with no other follow-up afterward. Capcom, meanwhile, released a localized version of The Great Ace Attorney earlier this year that has turned out to be fantastic.
