Shenmue 3 has faced a lot of delays throughout its development and the release of the game has been one rollercoaster ride one after another. It was originally set to launch in 2018 but was delayed multiple times until it was finally pushed to 2019. It was recently delayed one last time to November and it seems like this will be its final release date.
The game also has a day one patch which reportedly weighs around 4.5 GB. This patch size applies to the PS4 version and will update the game to version 1.01. It is live on servers for the Japanese copy of the game. It is possible that more patches will be released for the game later down the line and possibly before the launch of the game as well.
The official PlayStation Store doesn’t seem to list any file size for Shenmue 3 but the PC system requirements had set 100 GB hard disk space as the minimum space needed to install the game. Meanwhile, on the PlayStation Store, the only file size is for minimum save which can be a mistake since it demands 26 GB.
