Sony has announced a brand new State of Play for October 27 that will feature new announcements and updates on PS4 and PS5 games.
Sony has stopped taking part in the major gaming shows like E3, Gamescom, and Tokyo Game Show, but instead, they have their events named the State of Play. They usually share an update on their upcoming first-party lineup as well as some of the third-party exclusives.
The most recent State of Play was focused on the upcoming PS5 games. This new one appears to target both the PS4 and PS5. It will be streamed on Wednesday, October 27 at 2:00 pm PT / 10:00 pm.
According to the official announcement, this one will be focused “on announcements and updates for upcoming third-party releases headed to PS5 and PS4.” It will be roughly 20 minutes long.
As for the announcements themselves, we don’t have much to go on. Forspoken, which is one of the PS5 exclusives is already confirmed with a release date, while God of War was also delayed to 2022 and seen for the first time with gameplay footage during the last major event. If we had to guess, we could see Final Fantasy XVI make a return here since the game has been missing in action for well over a year now.
