Bandai Namco has released the patch notes for the latest update (version 1.02.01) of Tekken 8. The patch will be applied on February 28th at 11:00 JST (Japan Standard Time), which is equivalent to February 27th at 18:00 PST (Pacific Standard Time) and February 28th at 3:00 CET (Central European Time). To implement the updates, maintenance work will take place from 10:30 JST to 17:00 JST on February 28th. During this period, all online content will be temporarily unavailable to ensure a smooth transition to the new version.
Bandai Namco had previously announced that they would be introducing measures to deal with people who rage quit after losing a match in Tekken 8 online. This update will include new measures aimed at addressing this problem.
The update will bring various enhancements and new features to the game. One of the highlights is the UT×TEKKEN in-game collaboration, although specific details of this collaboration have not been disclosed. Another new feature, the TEKKEN SHOP, will offer players new options for customization and interaction within the game. The update also focuses on security and fair play, with measures implemented against illegal users to maintain the integrity of the gaming environment.
The update will also make functional improvements, fix bugs, and refine the overall gameplay experience. The patch will include specific adjustments to the behavior of some characters’ techniques and performance enhancements to ensure competitive balance.
Players should note that the update will impact their replay and ghost data. Downloaded replays and MY REPLAY & TIPS will not be viewable after the patch is applied, so players are advised to save videos of their favorite replays beforehand. All online replays will be deleted as part of the update process. For those who engage in SUPER GHOST BATTLE and GHOST MATCH, the ghost data will be updated to reflect the post-update behavior and performance of characters, but the data itself will not be lost, preserving players’ progress and achievements.
