Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Leaked Screenshots and Videos Surface Online; Be Cautious of Spoilers

by Salal Awan

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom spoilers have surfaced, with screenshots and videos from the game appearing on social media.

As we reported earlier, someone who seems to have early access to the collector’s edition of the game photographed it, and now we’re beginning to see screenshots and videos from the game itself circulating online.

Similar to the previous leak, this one appears to originate from the 4chan message boards. However, it’s difficult to dismiss it as a fake, since it showcases actual screenshots and videos from the game.

Needless to say, be cautious of spoilers. If you don’t mind viewing pre-release content, feel free to check out the leaked screenshots and videos below.

The game also appears to be running on the Nintendo Switch emulator Ryujinx. Impressively, it is already possible to emulate the game even though its release is still some time away. This suggests that the state of emulation for the Nintendo Switch has advanced considerably. However, it could be a case where the game, being a sequel, uses the same engine and features as Breath of the Wild, which is already playable on emulators.

These screenshots essentially confirm the leak’s authenticity, unless it’s an incredibly elaborate fake. They also reveal that the game will be playable on a PC once someone manages to dump a copy. While it might already be available online, it does not seem to be widely shared yet.

As one of the most anticipated games of 2023 and a major release for the Nintendo Switch, fans have eagerly awaited the sequel to Breath of the Wild, which launched in 2017. Initially slated for a 2022 release, the game experienced internal delays and will now launch on May 12, 2023.

As with most games published by Nintendo, the review embargo for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is expected to lift a day or two before its launch. Reports indicate that review copies have already been distributed, ensuring critics have ample time to thoroughly evaluate the game.
