FromSoftware Pleased With Armored Core VI Sales, Anticipates Revenue Boost From Elden Ring DLC
FromSoftware is pleased with sales of its mecha-based vehicular combat game, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, and the company anticipates an additional revenue boost from the recently released Elden Ring DLC.
Japan’s official government gazette (via) has shared FromSoftware financials for the fiscal year ending on March 31, 2024. Based on the information shared, the company has earned a revenue of 101 million US Dollars, which is -29% year-on-year. Meanwhile, its operating profit amounts to 43 million US Dollars, which is -50% year-on-year. This has resulted in an impressive operating profit margin of 42.5%.
According to the company’s financials, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, which was released in August, 2023, turned out to be a hit, though not at the scale of Elden Ring, which was released in February, 2022. FromSoftware expects the next fiscal year to be better, mainly due to the success of the recently released Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree. The development team at the studio is comprised of 423 employees, and is a part of Kadokawa, a public company in Japan.
Recently, it was revealed by the official Twitter/X account for Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon that the game’s sales have surpassed 3 million copies worldwide. Publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment and developer FromSoftware thanked all players, both new and old, who have braved the fires and flown on borrowed wings, for this accomplishment. Back in October, 2023, Ryo Shimokawa and Yasuyuki Kase, the Japanese voice actors behind Armored Core VI characters Pater and Rusty, respectively, had shared that the game’s sales had exceeded 2.8 million copies. The two made this revelation during a YouTube stream in which they were invited as guests. As such, the game has sold over 200,000 copies worldwide between October, 2023, and July, 2024, suggesting that sales have slowed down considerably.
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
