[Rumor] January Nintendo Direct Date Has Leaked and It Is Quite Close

Nintendo usually has a Direct to reveal the upcoming and currently announced games in January. The launch date for the Nintendo Direct has now leaked online.

The folks over at GamingIntel are citing their sources and reporting that the next Nintendo Direct is set to air on January 10, 2019. This is just one whole week away and will potentially feature major announcements judging from the history of the previous Nintendo Direct during the similar time frame.

As far as Nintendo is concerned, they are enjoying the massive success for the Nintendo Switch. It is selling at a brisk pace with record-breaking numbers in the last year. The sales of the Nintendo Switch hardware and software are both increasing year over year, which makes a good case for Nintendo to offer a strong showing in early 2019 and keep the sales momentum for the rest of the year.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate had a great debut in its opening week and it was also the fastest selling Smash Bros. release for Nintendo. So far, the game has sold more than 3 million worldwide in just 3 days and continues to do really well.

Nintendo Switch will get more heavy hitters this year with Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem and a mainline Pokémon set to debut later this year.
