Capcom has announced that Pragmata has surpassed 1 million units sold worldwide just 2 days after its release on April 17, 2026, marking a strong debut for the company’s latest original IP.
The science fiction action-adventure game follows Hugh Williams and an android companion named Diana as they navigate a near-future setting on the Moon. Designed as a completely new franchise, Pragmata blends action mechanics with puzzle-solving elements, set within a world shaped by artificial intelligence.
According to Capcom, the project was led primarily by a younger development team, with a focus on delivering a distinct gameplay experience that stands apart from the company’s established franchises. Despite launching without the benefit of an existing fan base, the title gained early traction through a combination of marketing efforts, including the release of a playable demo to introduce its core mechanics to players.
The publisher also highlighted its multi-platform approach as a contributing factor to the game’s early success. In addition to its initial release, support for Nintendo Switch 2 was incorporated early, expanding the game’s reach across platforms. The Switch 2 version is scheduled to launch in Japan and other parts of Asia on April 24.
The rapid sales milestone reflects a strong initial reception, positioning Pragmata as a promising new entry in Capcom’s portfolio. The company stated it will continue focusing on delivering high-quality gameplay experiences as it builds on this early momentum.
