New Monster Hunter Game Being Planned, No Monster Hunter World Switch Port In Dev

Capcom is planning to develop a new Monster Hunter game that will target middle and high school students. They don’t have any plans for MHW on Switch.

Capcom was recently asked about their plans for the future of the Monster Hunter series in an IR meeting. The question centered around the Nintendo Switch and asked whether they had any interest in developing or porting MHW for it.

When asked whether they are expanding MHW to Nintendo Switch, Capcom replied that they currently have no plans to do it. Since the game struggles to run on the base PS4 and Xbox One, it is highly unlikely that a port can be possible that runs at acceptable visual quality and frame rate.

The investor also inquired if they have anything in development that targets middle to high school students like the Monster Hunter series on PSP or Nintendo 3DS. Capcom confirmed that they have development plans for such a title although they didn’t give out any details.

MH is present on the Nintendo Switch with the launch of a port of Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. There is currently no new Monster Hunter game announced for the platform while the PS4, Xbox One, and PC users have just received a massive expansion for MHW with Iceborne.
