Resident Evil 2 demo is quite popular in Japan but the censorship there makes the game lose its charm due to the removal of blood and gore.
Blood and Gore are usually censored in Japan so when it comes to the Resident Evil 2 demo, it is no surprise to see this censorship striking here again. Sadly, as the comparison shows, this ruins a lot of the scenes that are particularly violent in the game.
While I am against needless violence, I do feel that in this specific case, the violence is essential to get the full experience out of the game. How do you pull out someone from zombies and leave their whole torso intact? It just makes no sense that the police officer dies in this way. The brutal death of the very first human character that Leon encounters is a reminder that it is not going to be easy for him to survive here, but it lacks the same impact in the Japanese version.

It is possible that those who hate blood and gore can enjoy importing the Japanese version with its censorship helping tone down a lot of the violence. It all depends on the preference for the individual. In my case, I would prefer to enjoy the game as intended by the developers.
If you haven’t had a chance to play the Resident Evil 2 demo, don’t miss out on it even if there is a time limit on it. You can remove this time limit on PC and some folks have even found secrets and other important information hidden in the data files of the demo.
